Tips and Trucks...I mean Tricks

Moving Doesn't Have to Suck!

We know it's easy to get overwhelmed with the moving process. That's why we've designed our company around hiring only the most capable professionals to get you through your day.

Our crew is prepared to move mountains for you. It's what we signed up for. But if you are interested in saving a few bucks and want the smoothest move ever, it's important to know that the time and cost of a move come down to a few simple things:

  • How many trips the movers make with your goods to the truck.
  • The walking distance from your residence to the truck.
  • The amount of time spent assembling/disassembling belongings.
  • Driving distance from pick up to drop off.

Here's How to Prepare

  1. Go to each room in your residence and take a good look around. Anything that's not in a box that can fit into a box, place in a box :)  This will save the movers trips to the truck.
  2. Pillows and blankets work great in garbage bags. This helps keep them clean and saves the movers time professionally packing them.
  3. Place any small lamps, pictures or breakable decor that can fit into your personal vehicle.
  4. If you have exercise equipment that was built inside of your residence, we highly recommend disassembling before we arrive if it is not going to fit through the door. Not doing so can easily add hours to your move.
  5. Track down the original box for your computer...if you haven't already thrown it away. If you have, we recommend you transport it in your personal vehicle.
  6. Seal all of your boxes with flat, taped tops so that we are able to stack them. This will save space in the truck and keep your belongings from falling during transport.
  7. Box up clothing in closets or place them in trash bags.
  8. You're welcome to leave the contents inside of your dresser drawers as long as nothing inside is fragile and your dresser is strong enough to support the weight while moving. For example, press wood dressers (IKEA) are highly susceptible to breaking if moving while bearing weight.
  9. Parking: We' ll be arriving in a pretty big moving truck so we'll need a big place to park it. We recommend setting out cones ahead of time or you can park your personal vehicle in a spot/s to reserve a space for us. If you need to contact the city ahead of time you may want to do so, but that's pretty rare.
  10. Try and have a couple last minute boxes. A few odds and ends always seem to pop up.
  11. Finally, sit back, try to relax and focus on whatever else it is you need to do that day. If you've followed these steps, you have nothing to worry about :)
